As you may know by now, we are having the Lowery Road Show on the 22nd. Included in the presentation will be the Development team, Builder, and Attorneys from both sides!
The good news is we managed to get Peter and Kenny to take this situation seriously. Less than 50 days ago Peter was adamant that the property “won’t sell for another 20 years”(see video) this of course is based a complete lack of knowledge or even common sense. However it is rumored that he knew all along what was in play. I am afraid that Peter will continue his pro developer attitude and rubber stamp this very important issues without a vote from owners.
The bad news our community seems to be apathic towards the issue. My best guess is that no one understands what is about to happen. If approved, it will take at least a year to build out. It could easily go to two years. If our economy crashes(again) twice that long. Or longer.
During that time our gate will be meaningless.
Workers will be coming though our gates at will.
Trucks and heavy equipment of every size will be coming in and out, constantly.
Expect you homes value to drop substantially.
Expect some low-income housing.
Expect construction workers walking around our streets.
Unless the HOA puts mitigation in place before the project is approved, we could be looking at construction from 7AM to 7PM ……. construction 7 days a week. I have asked the board to please consider that action but Peter is defiant. Please let him know you expect a plan before the project is approved, in whatever form it may be.
With that said the theme you expect to hear at the meeting is It will all be fine. As to the constant flow of traffic and congestion at the front gate…. you won’t even be noticeable. As to noise and dirt, you will hardly be effected unless your within a block or on the streets that trucks and workers will use.
It seems we currently have no one on the board looking out for us. . I am surprised that both members have not followed the last president,Bill, who sold his home within weeks of the Lowery’s rezoning and quickly disappeared.
I am sure there will be other happy talk and a bright picture will be painted about the whole effort. But it will only benefit the Developer.
